Best Uses

Use Winchester Dynapoint 22 WMR on small game and pests, and for range practice between hunts. The 45-grain plated hollow point is heavier and slower than many 22 Magnum loads, which gives a milder report and still opens on soft targets. It is a good pick if you want one affordable load for both jobs. Zero with it, since it will print differently from faster, lighter loads. A 50-round box covers a range day and a hunt. Check local laws before hunting with hollow points.

FAQ

Is Winchester Dynapoint good for hunting?
It is built for small game and plinking. The 45-grain plated hollow point opens on soft targets at normal 22 Magnum range.

Why is Winchester Dynapoint slower than other 22 WMR?
It uses a heavier 45-grain plated bullet at a listed 1,550 fps. Lighter bullets reach higher speeds from the same cartridge.

Is 22 mag the same as 22 WMR?
Yes. The names .22 Mag, .22 Magnum and 22 WMR all mean the same cartridge. Do not fire .22 LR in a 22 WMR gun, or the reverse.

Can a 22 magnum kill a coyote?
At close range and with good shot placement, many hunters use 22 WMR on coyotes. For longer shots, a centerfire varmint cartridge is a better choice.
