Best Uses

The 22 Hornet is a quiet, mild centerfire that sits between rimfire magnums and the .222 or .223. Winchester 22 Hornet soft points expand more slowly than polymer tips, which many hunters like for small game where they want less meat damage. Use a box of 50 to zero your rifle and hunt a season of woodchucks, foxes or rabbits. Save the brass, because Hornet cases are worth reloading. Check your state’s rules on what you can hunt with a .22 centerfire. Keep a few rounds in a stock pouch for the field.
