Best Uses

This is a load for new hunters, young shooters and anyone who flinches with full-power 30-06 ammo. Use it at the range to build confidence, then hunt deer and hogs at modest distances. The copper TTSX holds its weight, so it still penetrates well for its size. Keep shots closer than you would with a full-power load, and check your zero, since reduced loads often print lower. Barnes VOR-TX Reduced Recoil 30-06 130 grain lets a new hunter use a full-size rifle without the punishment.

FAQ

What is reduced recoil 30-06 ammo?
It is 30-06 ammo loaded with a lighter bullet or less powder to cut felt recoil. This Barnes load uses a 130-grain copper bullet at 2,760 fps.

Is reduced recoil ammo good for deer?
Yes, at moderate range with good shot placement. It has less energy than full-power loads, so keep shots closer.

How much recoil does a 30-06 have?
Full-power 30-06 loads kick hard in light rifles. A reduced recoil load like this one pushes much less, which helps new shooters.

Is this ammo lead free?
Yes. The TTSX bullet is all copper, and the load is listed as lead-free, so it meets lead-free hunting rules where they apply.
