Best Uses

Custom Lite is a good fit for new shooters, young hunters and anyone who has developed a flinch. Use it to build good habits at the range, then take it to the deer woods at modest distance. The SST tip starts expansion quickly on deer-size game. Keep shots closer than you would with full-power loads, since the bullet starts slower. Check your zero, because it may hit lower than your usual load. Hornady Custom Lite 30-06 125 grain lets a shooter learn on a real 30-06 without the pounding.

FAQ

What is reduced recoil 30-06 ammo?
Reduced recoil ammo uses lighter bullets or lower speeds to cut felt kick. This Custom Lite load drives a 125-grain bullet at 2,700 fps.

Is reduced recoil ammo good for deer?
It can be, at moderate range with good shot placement. It carries less energy than full-power loads, so keep shots closer.

How much recoil does a 30-06 have?
Full-power 30-06 loads kick hard in light rifles. A reduced recoil load like this one pushes much less, which helps new shooters.

Will reduced recoil ammo shoot to the same point?
Not always. Lighter, slower loads often hit lower than full-power ammo at distance. Always re-check your zero on paper before you hunt with them.
